Hi Everybody!
PyCon Ireland is rolling closer. As usual this event couldn't happen without the help of volunteers on the committee but also volunteers on the day. So with that are there any of you who would like to get an exclusive behind the scenes look at the conference set up and also get an awesome t-shirt that says "Staff". In total we need about 15-20 volunteers to help the event run smoothly. Here is the breakdown of the roles we need help with. If there is something you're really passionate about and no other role will do then just let us know and we can assign you there :) Friday: Bit of a hand with the pack o' swagbag sweatshop. Looking for about 3/4 people. Followed by a few pints in the Ballsbridge hotel. Saturday and Sunday: Registration: 5 people to help the initial registration on Saturday morning. So if you can focus in the morning and enjoy managing queues, this could be the volunteering role for you. Session Chairs: The role of the session chair is to ensure the speaker knows their speaking time, has their slides, laptop works with projector, has microphone setup, to remind the speaker of time remaining at 10, 5 mins and at timeup. You also get to introduce them. We need 3 people for each day. Stewards: This involves guiding people to where the need to be and being a fount of knowledge regarding the conference (not really, but very useful). So if you think you would like to get involved and see how everything works behind the scenes then please just reply to [email protected] with your name and t-shirt size. And finally if you want to help out but you haven't yet bought your ticket you can do so here, http://python.ie/pycon/2014 Thanks, Andrea -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Python Ireland" group.
