The brick icon is just a generic "Plug-in" icon, used by numerous types of plug-ins throughout the OS (iTunes plugins, internet plugins, &c.) > OK, here I have to disagree again. In any case, if you do want to add text, use the template, because all the Apple icons use 18 point Lucida Grande Bold, black text, 60% opacity, -20 tracking, "Crisp" rendering, and centered at a particular spot.
