What? That's exactly what an egg is, a bundle (zip) of executable code.

A "Bundle" under OS/X has a very specific meaning and structure (a folder, usually with an Info.plist file at the root, and things inside a subfolder called "Contents"  - see <http://developer.apple.com/documentation/CoreFoundation/Conceptual/CFBundles/Concepts/BundleAnatomy.html> for details)) - and a zip file isn't one.
