Hi all,

Announcing the first beta release of appscript for Python 2.x, a user- friendly Apple event bridge that allows you to control AppleScriptable applications using ordinary Python scripts.

Py-appscript 0.19.0 adds Python 2.6 compatibility and 64-bit support, and cleans up the codebase and documentation in preparation for the final 1.0 release. Further details, including a list of changes from the previous 0.18.1 distribution, can be found on the appscript website:

        http://appscript.sourceforge.net/py-appscript/index.html

File releases can be downloaded from the Python Package Index:

        http://pypi.python.org/pypi/appscript

A Python 3.x-compatible version is currently under development and a file release should be available shortly - see the appscript website for more information.

Enjoy,

has
