That is not necessary since it is already explicit about the required version.

I agree with this suggestion. The reason I used 0.6.0 is because
that's what I got from the Ubuntu repository and I assumed that it was
the typical stable version to use. I am happy to upgrade this
dependency to a later version if that makes it easier for packagers.

Yes, it's a simple enough change to make (assuming it's the only one),
but supporting multiple versions of a library will be difficult to
test and maintain so I would rather not.
