I fixed that in master and 2.10 in GDAL and OGR provider adding mutex in data items on GDALOpen/OGROpen using #ifndef SPATIALITE_VERSION_G_4_1_1 which we had already.
Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the crash with spatialite 4.1.1 before the fix, please test on systems where it was crashing.
