How can I get rid of it? What is the function of it? I had it in qgis 1.8 and it is now also in the newly installed 2.0 Thanks for your help Perhaps it's a plugin? I noticed a red cross after I installed zoom to coordinates plugin and the only way to get rid of it was to uninstall the plugin but I ignore it because the plugin is so useful! Probably the region outline from GRASS. On the GRASS toolbar there's a button to show/not show the region.
