If I understand your question correctly.
I have little experience in Oracle DB's, but in PostgreSQL/PostGIS, you
can create a Geometry Constraint within your table, which states what
geometry is within the table, which speeds up QGIS in reading table
lists, when loading them.

registered tables, for which about 100 are external data (csv) tables
(much slower to query), and a few dozen are huge collection geometry
tables. QGIS currently takes “forever” (more than an hour – I gave up
waiting) for the layer browser to query and load all the entries into
the list. I really like QGIS in general, but this issue makes it
unusable as it is currently.
