Claus, Richard, I am doing many test to have some resonable results but till now no practical idea how to have a correct linux installation on q60. This is what i obtain so far and that means nothing to me.
First of all let me say that using SMSQ/e I have no problem at all. I am focusing now to install linux directly using the q60 without use the q40. The kernel i use is the Thierry kernel for 060LC I have, 68060lc and 80 MB Ram Every time i try an installation something go wrong and every time the problem is different, mainly bus error and segmentation fault at different step during the installation process (!!!! scientif isnt it???) but at the end the bigger probability of success to have a working installation is when I use : 1 - less than 32 ram , also triing 33 MB crashes the q60, lxx with -m <32 2 - i have to format the partition using a block size of 4096 (why???) : mke2fs -b 4096 /dev/hda3 I launch lxx in this way : ex lxx;'-c 060FEMU -k vmlinux_q60 -m 32 --root=/dev/hda3' , how can I understand that the flag -c 060FEMU is taken ? I do not see any special messages and nothing change independently if I use it or not !!! I also tryed to move it along the command line after the -k kernel . I have lxx version 1.01 Next steps : i will try to find here 2 new SIMM and try to replace completely Thank you Ciao, fabrizio __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
