Hi Phoebus,
In 10 minutes I'll be the proud owner of a Q40 (Yipeeeee!!! :-)
Finally you have made it :-) Congratulations!
Basically, most jumperable NE2000 compatible ISA Cards should do. For example the Longshine LCS-8634PTB. Beware a few newer LCS-8634PTB have a hardware bug and create IRQ10/11 signals, even if configured to IRQ5 so these lines mut be cut.which begs the question.... anyone knows of a 10BaseT Ethernet ISA adapter that works with it? I don't want to get a 10Base2 one and then have to find a Twisted Pair converter for the coaxial.....
Some non-jumperable card can also be configured in a non-volatile manner by running a configuration software on a DOS box.
Set IO base to 0x300 and IRQ to 5.
If you want to be on the safe side, get a card from D&D Systems :-)
Also, does anybody have info on how the QXL talks to the ISA bus?
SH and TT I guess.
It would be interesting (to say the least) to put the QXL there and use it together with the Q40 ;-))))
You could use the QXL to provide the good old QL network :-) All the best Peter
