PTRGEN, WMAN, HOT_REXT and MENU_REXT all appear to load correctly. The crash
occurs after loading QSpread.

However I have done some more testing and I think we could exonerate
QSpread. When I tried loading some of my own PE programs (all pre GD2) they
also crashed with various different error messages. Only one froze the
machine.

It seems there is a problem with the PE files. Perhaps it is time to widen
this discussion.

Are there any people on this list who use the latest versions of these
(PTRGEN 2.02, WMAN 2.05, HOT_REXT 2.29) and, if so, what are the
experiences?

I suspect that most PE users use SMSQ-E and that those who do not have not
upgraded from earlier versions. I should add that this is the first time I
have used the latest versions myself,

Best Wishes,

Geoff
