That cannot have been me - that person has lots of *dark* hair.
When was it?
Stuart and I had our bikes (of course) and cycled all around Rhode
Island. We did though get lifts to and from Boston with Al Boehm.
Some memories:
. Getting chased by a waitress 50 yds down the street - "Hey guys you
forgot the tip".
. Seeing a highly lit muffin counter in the indian restaurant.
. Having a drink in a *very* posh bar in our jeans and T shirts at the
yachting fraternities hangout. This was after cycling past the largest
and grandest houses possibly on the east coast. Think The Great Gatsby.
. Coming out of our motel and seeing a good breakfast place on the other
side of the crossroads. Us Brits walk towards it, and see the others
walking the other way for their cars! We persuaded them to walk the 50
yards! Cars stopped in the middle of a dual carriageway to let us
ducklings across. Pedestrians just simply don't exist outside towns.
It was a very good show.
