If I were not now in Scotland the answer would have been width 7ft or length 30yds I know this because I was taught (while doing National Service in the RAF) how to estimate distances. You take a point half way and estimate the shorter distance. By applying that method enough times I was able to use a ruler to find accurately 2^-11 of the distance.
