Hi,

we had a little conversation about Geoff's recent post on the German
QL forum. In conclusion, we are glad if *everybody* who is
interested in the QL, is very welcome at the meeting in Edinburgh.
Our hope is that nobbody feels discouraged, in case of limited QL
skills. The more QLers come, the better.

It is too easy to take the wrong meaning and I apologise if I have misunderstood.
Many years ago I was on the Quanta committee.
My wife is on the Quanta committee (if ANYONE is willing to be on the committee I would be gratefully as I would like my wife back!) I have attended shows in the UK and Europe (personally the best for me was Munich).
I have helped on the A&E stall
I have enjoyed the most recent shows/talks/AGMs/meeting/gathering/workshops (whatever you want to call them) I do not give talks and so I have spent most of my time either sat at a table, talking to others or listening to the talks.

I had missed Geoff's email but had been telephoned by two different QLers to tell me about it, so I have assumed that I am the QLer who is not required. Not that I would feel unwelcome. As I can honestly say I have never met a QLer who has not been welcomed by everyone.

I had planned to attend Edinburgh, not to give a talk, but to gain information and learn. However, as I seem to fit all the criteria that Geoff has mentioned, I am happy if it is considered that I am not the target audience for QLis30.

If the plan is that everyone must give a talk, as I do not have a talk planned I will not attend, but I still think the show will be fascinating and I wish you all the best.

Regards
John
