I used an 8-bit PIO from my UK101 to drive it direct. bit 7 was used to switch between characters and functions. When on functions, the remaining 7 bits each operated CR, LF, shift and so on. I even wired the status switches in series back into the computer, so that the next character could be sent immediately - 'handshake' of course. That was a really enjoyable project, but the Diablo 630 took over - soon to be my first QL printer. ... and I only have 7 sheds I'll have you know. -- QBBS (QL fido BBS 2:252/67) +44(0)1442-828255 tony@<surname>.co.uk http://www.firshman.co.uk Voice: +44(0)1442-828254 Fax: +44(0)1442-828255 TF Services, 29 Longfield Road, TRING, Herts, HP23 4DG
