Hi Oliver, which WMS URL was that and offered by whom? I remember trying one out that didn't work. Oh and for everybody who asked, I am pretty fond of OSM maps and generally find the quality often surprising. As I mentioned I need to use these maps in my line of work as a sar dog squad leader, so we rely on these maps to identify areas where we should perform searches. This is one area were incorrect maps would mean that areas might not be searched that should've been and it would be unwise to argue later that it didn't show up on the map that was used, because it is community maintained and nobody had gotten around to add that area :)
Still, thanks a lot for the heap of support I've received from you. I will also try to get digital maps via the official channels, but I don't really expect to succeed that way. One question though, as I guess many of you speak German, I found this page of the Landesvermessungsamt Schleswig-Holstein http://www.schleswig-holstein.de/LVERMGEOSH/DE/Geobasisdaten/geobasisdaten_node.html Is my understanding correct, that what I am looking for is the ATKIS-DTK5 map in geotiff format? Or are there other products I should be asking for? There are some test files available that should be georeferenced, but when I try to import them qlandkartegt says they're not.
