Hi

Andrew announced version 3.0 of Routino, yesterday. And this means release time
for QMapShack,
too! We both spent the summer to convert the command line routing tool into a
library. By that my
private library has been removed from the QMS package again. Do I hear a
"puhhhh.." from package
maintenance?

I also pressed Andrew on the Windows port a bit. Resulting in a workable 64bit
MinGW version. This
means that the upcoming Win64 binary will work with the pre-compiled databases
as well as Linux
does. Be a bit patient, the binary will be ready the next days.

Many thanks to Andrew for enduring and implementing my constant stream of
requests. Now on-
the-fly routing really rocks.

There is another good news for OS X users. Ivo volunteered to maintain an OS X
release. The bundle
should be available, soon.

Bad news for Win32 fans. Helmut and I decided to drop support for Win32. None
of us is using it.
There are a few 32bit issues to be debugged and fixed. This has to be done by
someone using 32bit
Windows. This will include investigation of 32bit problems in the Routino
library.

I spent some time on hardening the code. There were many crashes when stressing
the application.
Hopefully they are less by now.

I implemented some of the feature requests I considered useful for me. There
are still many left
without benefit for my use. So if you want to have them get involved.

This applies to routes, too. Personally I do not use routes. I use tracks. And
my interest in Routino is
to draw/plan tracks very fast. I got what I want and have no idea of what to do
with the routes. So if
you have ideas implement them and send a patch.

That's it for now. The the change log below for all details.

Have fun with the new release!

Oliver
