Ah - ok, that helped a lot.  The Emacs manual calls them "clipboard" and
"primary selection".  But I always thought that all X programs only use
one of them.  I didn't even know that ctrl-V is a common key.

So, pasting in qmaptool with ctrl-V works.  Normal yank in Emacs also
works btw, I just didn't try ;-)  And the github "copy repo url" buttons
also work like this.  Fine!
