I have.
I changed the file /usr/bin/build-qmail, which is the script you need
to run after installing the qmail-src package. I changed two or three
lines so it would apply the patches before really going on with
building and installing.
This was very convenient because i could start from scratch every
time, untill I got it right, and still be fully 'debian-compliant'
i.e. i didn't have to meddle with install directories and such.

PS At that time, the patch didn't work and Turbo sent me a new one,
whihc worked on debian. But this was in August 2000 so I am not sure
about the up-to-date patches.
