aieh... stupid henning. qmail-send does not run under softlimit. the more i
think about this issue the less sense i see.
please post the unedited output of these commands:
qmail-showctl
qmail-ldaplookup -u [uid], where uid is the user id you tested with
ldapsearch [uid] for the same uid
ulimit -a / unlimit -s (depends on shell you're using)
the contens of /var/qmail/rc
