auth_imap terminates immediately on wrong password

dear everyone,
 
I have the following set up:
qmail 1-03, openldap 1.2.11, ldap patch 20010501 and courier-imap 1.3.8.1 .
 
I'm using auth_imap from qmail-ldap patch as the authentication module for
courier-imap. When I start an imap
session and when i get the password wrong, the whole session disconnects
immediately. Is this how
it is supposed to behave for wrong password?? But everything works normally
when password is correct.
I'm just worrying something is crashing abnormally behind when the password
is wrong.
 
This is my ldap entry:

How i  configure courier-IMAP to use auth_imap? I just modifed
/usr/lib/courier-imap/etc/imapd and 
set AUTHMODULES="auth_imap" . That's all.
 
Let me know if anything is wrong.
