Henning,
What about the latest 2.4.x series kernel?
I've started testing an nfs server with rieserfs.

It appears not to have problems. I wrote a perl script to create
10,000-20,000 small files and it handled it flawlessly.

2.4.7 (reiserfs-quota patch)
90Gb RAID5 array (mylex controller driver compiled in) (reiserfs)
latest nfs-utils (sorry, don't have version #)
PIII-800
512MB RAM
Alteon GigE SX nic -> Cisco 3508G

All of the stories that I've heard said that the NFSv2 server had the
problems. I've not heard bad reviews about the NFSv3 server. Comments?

Thanks,

Mike
