Also you may get patch-2.5.4 by FTP and compile it yourself , that's pretty
straight-forward : ./configure --prefix=/usr && make && make install
FTP: ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/patch/patch-2.5.4.tar.gz
it compiled without any trouble for me.
