i used the ldappasswd and this is what it showed(DEBUGLEVEL=255):

# check_ldap: password compare was not successful
someone has suggested to type {md5} in capitals like this : {MD5} but it
didnt help also . i suppose i havent compiled something into the auth_pop, do
you know how to test it? some defines maybe ?
