wait a second until i am done banging my head at the wall....

...ok, better now, thanks guys.

So its down to one problem. I tried to connect to the imap port, worked fine;
set up an account in outlook for it, crashed. Naturally it does, i thought; i
have no maildir. Outlook had no choice but crashing...

So the homedir/maildir problem is still in place and i cant even work around it:
after making a Maildir for elvis1 which looks like this:
milliways:/var/qmail/maildirs/elvis1# ls -lR
.:
total 4
drwx------ 5 vmail root 4096 Nov 21 19:40 Maildir
-rw------- 1 vmail vmail 0 Nov 21 19:34 courierimapuiddb.lock

./Maildir:
total 12
drwx------ 2 vmail root 4096 Nov 21 19:40 cur
drwx------ 2 vmail root 4096 Nov 21 19:40 new
drwx------ 2 vmail root 4096 Nov 21 19:40 tmp

and even trying to give him a .qmail with ./Maildir/ in it, i still get:

illiways:/var/qmail/maildirs/elvis1# telnet localhost pop3
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
+OK <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
user elvis1
+OK
pass abc123
-ERR unable to scan $HOME/Maildir
Connection closed by foreign host

This must be related to the virtual user thing?! Can you direct me how to set up
the qmail-ldap thing so it will create homedirs, maildirs, and what exactly
would you recommend for the LDAP entries for home/maildirs?
TIA,

Daniel

(wow, my head hurts now...)
