How does it look at quotas? Does it require 'maildirsize' to be created in
maildir or it reads the LDAP database, and then creates the file?

Even though qmail-ldap and Sqwebmail/Courier-IMAP/maildrop support
"maildirsize quotas", they behave slightly differently. I am using maildrop
for delivery, and out of the box it won't create "maildirsize". It will use
quotas if maildirsize is present. Sqwebmail, also, doesn't read quotas from
LDAP (Does the latest version use LDAP quotas?), but will obey them if it
finds maildirsize. I believe Curier-IMAP has the same behavior,
unfortunately. I just wish Courier-IMAP and maildrop read their quotas from
an environment variable, and created maildirsize if it doesn't exist. Or
recreated maildirsize if the environment variable now contains new quota.

Both Courier-IMAP and maildirsize are forked from another process. Makes me
wonder why this wasn't part of the original design in the first place.
