hi,
we have some problems with our qmail-ldap server (patch 20030301 + smtp
auth, but also with older revisions) and preprocessing of messages...
the concurrencyremote is set to 100 but there are no more than about 5-10
slots used, cause there only non-preprocessed messages in the queue and
they slowly get preprocessed (about half an hour for 1k messages). first we
didn't use the external todo patch, but also with it the preprocessing time
didn't speed up...
but the server isn't under heavy load (load average 7), and both processors
(1.2 ghz pIII) are idle most of the time... i don't think disk i/o is a
problem here, they are mirrored (raid 1) scsi disks and iostat and mpstat
don't show high values (see below)
what can i do to increase the pre-processing performance or test for other
possible bottlenecks?
