I am using tcpserver, but I don't think that is the problem. I use MRTG to monitor qmail connections, and I don't see any case where I have hit the upper limit on SMTP or POP3 connections. I have my incoming SMTP connections set to 100, and my incoming POP3 set to 40.

I looked through my tcpserver logs, and noticed that the log files don't get very big before they roll over. Anyone know how to change that? As you can see from my listing of /var/log/qmail/pop3d/ below, the files roll over when they get to about 98000 bytes. Anyone know how I can make that much, much larger to get better logging?

Are you using tcpserver? Maybe you have reached the maximum
connections allowed by tcpserver. You can check that in your tcpserver
logs.

Subject: Qmail-LDAP POP and SMTP connections "terminated"

Hello Everyone,

I am running Qmail-LDAP 20030301 and have a problem. Occasionally

email

clients will get a message while trying to send email that says

"Your

TCP/IP Connection has been terminated". That is the text of the

error

message that they get when using MS Outlook 2000. It has happened

with

other email clients as well.
