Hi,

Lately I am having problem with spammers who change their mailfrom (I have spamguard which can block spammer by e-mail) with each message they send and the same time they send only one e-mail in a connection so tarpitting is not working with them. Does any one have a valid solution other than using something like spamassassin. I need something that should work on the network level not the smtp level and with minimum load.

A few weeks ago I had the idea to lonk up the tarpit feature with the pbs tools. So that you can configure tarpit better. You would have the possibility to set the # of messages per connections and the # of connections per timeframe. To support it a major rewrite/change is necessary (pbsdbd needs to support a pbscheck counter and some glue is needed in pbscheck). In other words nothing trivial.

I think this would be a great feature

A short way sollution could be http://dial-spam-block.sourceforge.net/
the idea of the tarpit-pbs lonk up comes from there (or better from a beer
session with one of the writer of dial-spam-block).

This solution would protect me and others from my Dial-in users, but not from other users who try to SPAM directly to my mx.
