Alter bounce messages?

Who can tell me how to alter the bounce messages in the qmail-send file without blowing
it up? I tried hexeditor, but I musta not done a very good job.

In particular I'd like to terminate with extreme prejudice the message that says
something to the effect of, "Hi. This is the qmail program at tux.auntminnie.net. I
wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent
error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out." I develop a rash every time I test
bouncing.
