qmail won't start

Hi,

I just build and set up qmail for the first time (according to the
installation description in Life with qmail) on a Solaris 5.8 box.

I tried to start qmail by invoking 
   qmail-start ./Mailbox splogger qmail
and nothing at all did happen. No stderr/stdout no syslog, no processes
running.

Any ideas?
