I need to control qmail-smtpd by AUTH LOGIN. All docs I found considered to use /bin/checkpassword and adding some patches into qmail-smtpd.c I think today my VPOPMAIL uses vchkpw to control virtual username/password. I want to authenticate SMTP using the same database. Does /bin/checkpassword use the same user/pass that vchkpw uses? How do POP and SMTP authenticate users? Which of theses patchs apply to this condition? Thank you!
