If anyone is having this problem, I have had an email from the person who wrote the
online guide, and it
states that the qmailadmin file should have the following permissions:

root@slack:/usr/local/apache/cgi-bin# ls -al
total 276
drwxr-xr-x 2 root www 4096 Jan 2 03:02 ./
drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4096 Dec 30 12:29 ../
-rwsr-sr-x 1 vpopmail vchkpw 269648 Jan 2 03:02 qmailadmin*

If your qmailadmin file does not have these permissions, re-run 'make install-strip'
from the qmailadmin
source directory.

                Subject: [qmailadmin] Another Question

I've setup a test server with the following - qmail / qmailadmin /
vpopmail & mysql auth / apache & ssl /
squirrelmail.
                I followed a wonderful guide @
http://www.pipeline.com.au/staff/mbowe/isp/webmail-server.htm

The installation went without a problem, I can send and receive mail
etc. The only hitch I have is when I login to
qmailadmin
I get the following error message:-

                file permission error
/home/vpopmail/domains/l3-3t.co.uk/postmaster/Maildir/1041300932.qw

The above file does not exist and it seems to produce a different
filename each time someone tries to login (ie,
/Maildir/1041300970.qw)

I've noticed that this situation has been mentioned a couple of times
in the archives but there is no solution to
it.
