so I missed a message from nick where states the following (dated 22
apr):
To all of you who are encountering "qmail-smtpd: qq soft reject . . .",
My initial testing indicates that this failure is cause of
simscan-toaster
not being built against your current clamav-toaster package.
The solution is either:
rpm -e simscan-toaster
rpmbuild --rebuild simscan-toaster*.src.rpm
rpm -Uvh simscan-toaster*rpm
or
rpmbuild --rebuild simscan-toaster*.src.rpm
rpm -Uvh --replacefiles --replacepkgs simscan-toaster*rpm
Erik and I are continuing the testing process and will likely have
further
information soon.
My question here is, could it be that simscan or clamd has a parameter
that limits number of connections? and maybe this is the parameter
that needs to be set to a higher level? because my problem has not
shown during this late hours of the night (or early of the morning :) )
anyways, I am still in the process of the upgrade of one of the server
and in the other server I just did what it is stated above. I will
tell you if I still have problems with qq soft limit

mysql server is:
mysql-server-4.1.20-1.RHEL4.1
and maybe it was a latent upgrade because this started after a
reboot. And in the 2nd server started because it had less users.
Could it also be a dk keys related problem? and it can't add to the
queue. all other versions are in another message in this same thread

Did you upgrade your OS before those problems started to occur?
Which MySQL / Toaster releases are currently installed?

I change to another server and it is doing the same problem sending
me the
same problem. could it be a problem of conections.
where do I have to add the change limits in conections, could it be a
mysql problem?
this is my.cnf config file
[mysqld]
datadir=/var/lib/mysql
socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock
# Default to using old password format for compatibility with mysql
3.x
# clients (those using the mysqlclient10 compatibility package).
old_passwords=1
[mysql.server]
user=mysql
basedir=/var/lib
[mysqld_safe]
err-log=/var/log/mysqld.log
pid-file=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.pid
what should I add to add more connections.

I have made a wiki with qmail-scanner instead of simscan, you don't have
to modify much on your system (doesn't need to have siscan uninstalled)
give it a try maybe siscan is the problem
