I think I figured out what I did wrong.  I rsynced the
whole /home/vpopmail directory to the new server.
including /vpopmail/lib/ and /vpopmail/include/.  oops. 
is it possible to reinstall the vpopmail toaster with out nuking all the
mail?  Its a lot of mail.   Thanks for the help
