All other packages appeared to build without any problems. This
system has had all of it's yum updates and has been rebooted.
Ideas, please?

Perhaps a bad download? I'd try removing the source rpm from
/usr/src/qtp-upgrade/SRPMS/ and try again.
I've seen this error before, but I don't recall where. Is there
perhaps a mirror with a tainted package?
Sadly that did not fix the issue. I've deleted all of the rpms again
and now I'm going to install all updates EXCEPT clamav. See how that
works.

I'm still running the upgrade on the other packages, so I'll check it
