I spent over an hour messing with mailman and almost had it set up and was reading about other lists and found Pommo. It took about 3 minutes to setup. I'll let you know how it works. Mailman may be powerful, but it's setup procedure sucks.

I think ezmlm would fit fine. Personally, I prefer mailman (see wiki how to) for a nice gui interface. Mailman is probably overkill for a car club though.
