Check my installation notes:

I've been using QT and QTP since July/2011 without any problems. These notes were taking over a Centos 6.0. I don't know if the current Centos 6.2 involve more patches.

COS6 provides more up to date packeges, such as PHP. It was a brand-new server, and I thought that installing COS5 was going a step backward. This is my personal opinion, I prefer to fight installing QT over a non-officially supported (yet) COS6, than fight installing numerous packages (php, mysql, perl) non-officially supported by COS5.

Something I really loved is that COS6 minimal installation is really minimal! (Just be carefull, becouse It does not include scp, telnet or ftp clients, nor the traceroute command).

Saluuti,
Natalio.
As I've note here several times, I currently run QMT on COS6 just fine (now on 8 of 30 or so QMT servers that I manage)...

I have a build script available on either _*mirror4.qmailtoaster.com*_ or _*mirror9.qmailtoaster.com*_ -- the scripts are not official, and thus will not appear on the other QMT mirrors -- the file name to look for is *QMT-CentOS6.sh*

My script is designed to be installed after a truly fresh "minimal" COS6 installation, and will resolve ALL of the dependencies (also, it removes the default postfix -- a change from previous RHEL systems that defaulted to sendmail). It can take over an hour to run, depending upon your Internet connection speed, and it is not very chatty... so I suggest you run it and go get something to eat and drink...

_/*THIS IS AN UNOFFICIAL, UNAPPROVED BUILD SCRIPT */_-- *USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

*I have debugged it only in the environment of a fresh COS6 install (and it supports both x86 and x64 installations). /*As such -- please report any problems or bugs directly to me -- _OFF-LIST_*/ -- at qmt.it4soho.com.

I hope you find it useful....
