Dan's suggestion is indeed the simplest solution. I don't know to what degree qmailadmin can be used to manage list accounts though.

Some time ago though, I was frustrated by ezmlm's lack of a web interface for users to manage their list account. So I set up Mailman to work with QMT, and wrote up how to do it (because I would likely forget): http://wiki.qmailtoaster.com/index.php/Mailman Mailman is head and shoulders above any other FOSS list processing software out there, and is actively developed and maintained.

FWIW, I even went so far as to implement the web portion of Mailman on a separate host from the mail portion. That hasn't apparently been done very often (although it makes logical sense to me).

In the long run, I'd like to have mailman available as an alternative list processing package in QMT. I don't expect that to happen any time soon, but following the wiki directions above should get you a mailman setup running with QMT quite nicely in a reasonably short amount of time.

If there's anyone else out there running Mailman with QMT, I'd like to hear about your experience with it.

Look on the bottom of your own message here:

    *---------------------------------------------------------------------

    For additional commands, e-mail:qmailtoaster-list-h...@qmailtoaster.com

Normal list management works this way -- users just reply to
<list-name>-unsubscribe@<domain-name> and they get removed.
 - This utilizes the QMAIL sub-account feature... anything after the -
means its a sub-account to be delivered to the mailbox that appears
before the - <dash>
So, the mail list gets the -unsibscribe message and processes it
automagically.

A website interface would have to accomplish quite a bit -- including
verifying if the requested mail list even exists, if the user
requested is on the list, and lastly, whether the unsubscribe actually
worked.
WAY too much work when the e-mail method is so simple & free!

Automatically adding those lines at the bottom of list postings is an
option in the setup of the list.

Hi All,

I am wanting to configure a mailing list on our toaster box for our
customer base and I need a good
opt out web interface.
The list will be private only to our customers and I want to give
them an opt out link if they want off the
list.

Any ideas,thoughts or suggestions welcome.

thanks
