Hi Martin and everyone,

thank you for your quick reaction and helpful suggestions.

Reverting to 1.1 did fix the problem, so there seem to be an incompatibility
of my code with recent changes in the databinding area. But it introduced
other problems since I have dependencies on other changes in the trunk, it
seems.

This needs closer analysis. I will try to further isolate the problem. My
sense is that creating a model based on an empty form that contains a
selectbox might be the problem, but I haven't tested that.

I think recent discussions on the list have shown that it might be good to
have a more straighforward way to include selection widgets in forms by
providing a straightforward way of setting and getting scalar values that
are linked to the labels shown in select boxes or other more complex form
widgets, for example, as suggested, by setting "ids" or "values". The
current behavior is very flexible, but it needs a lot of custom coding to
achieve relatively simple things, and I think a lot can go wrong there.

Thanks again,
Christian
