If you want to use a desktop widget for the whole browser window, you don't
need a desktop widget ;) The standalone application is a desktop widget on it's
own. Use a desktop only, when you want to have an area in your applications,
which windows shouldn't overlay.

All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. IT sense. And common sense.
