I'm afraid I have to disappoint you in this point. The aim of the new 
contrib platform is to actually liberate contrib authors from any 
specific VCS or hosting. So a particular contrib you are interested in 
might not be on Github, it mit be on Launchpad, or at no hosting site at 
all.

Thanks, that's good to hear. Although we also had feedback to the 
contrary from users that had to cross a wider gap, eg. coming from 0.7. 
I think over a longer stretch of time you have to allow for breaking 
changes (not that we long for them).
