Status: Open => Answered
Brendan Perrine proposed the following answer:
There is a keyboard shorcut to get it back of alt+ shift+ M that should
toggle the menu bar. Although this shortcut can be customized in edit ->
settings -> shortcuts by selecting the keyboard shortcut on the very
bottom of of toggle menubar. If in this window you can select the right
hand column that say alt+shift+M and hit backspace so it is empty if
you wish to disable it so this does not happen again.
