I got qpopper working on the RH7.1 box I wasn't aware until I ran 'ipchains -L' that someone had setup a firewalling script on the webhosting box. I added two rules to permit syn tcp requests over ports 110 and 143. For giggles I also deleted and reinstalled qpopper with the 'enable-standalone' and 'enable- debugging' flags for configuration.
Finally I added this to rc.local /usr/local/sbin/popper 63.90.248.133:110 -S and rebooted. I just sent some email and grabbed it from the webserver using Eudora, no problems. Steve Bopple [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.bopple.org www.linuxhaiku.com
