We should probably stop discussing the features of various qmail patchsets.
The point already made is that there are still lots of mailservers in the 
real world who can/do not check recipients during smtp, but will send out
bounce messages instead. The number is - thanks to dictionary based guessing
of localparts by spammers - on decline, but at least imho not yet
negligible. 

Therefore one might choose the block "<>", but need to be aware that this 
could mean not seeing mail failures. This is not acceptable for many mail 
users, so one should probably only do this to private setups or make it 
configurable per recipient.

I'm not up to date about the current stock implementation (if any) of 
per recipient configuration, but i think qpsmtpd should have this for 
each and every content filtering plugin. I think this is a killer feature
because spam filtering got very complex and involves lots of methods with
various risks. Especially on large mailservers there is no one-size-fits-
them-all spam filter configuration.
