I am amazed it didn't degenerate into a flame-fest between the "1/4" jack and the "1/8" jack devotees. I am waiting for Karl's mathematical analysis as to why the jack on his FT-817 is better than the others.
BTW, broke down and got one of those cheap IC-703's just to compare. Even without the CW filter (which is coming), the receiver beats the FT-817 by a wide margin.
