Well I guess I pissed of Ed Hare (again). He came up with an asinine
comparison of Ham Radio and Guitar playing, so I responded below:

become good guitar players. If the right to play the guitar is just given to
people, it will ruin guitar playing.

A typical smart ass reply. If guitar players used our limited radio
spectrum, or were permitted to "serenade" us from the stage of our
favorite movie theater, or from our own front lawns, they yes, they
should be tested, to at least insure we will be subjected to quality
playing.
Argue as you will, the ARRL's desire for "Quantity" at the demise of
"Quality," is as big a threat to Ham Radio as BPL. This latest proposal,
blatantly catering to the interests of the WINLINK 2000 crowd, as even a
distinguished member of the "Digital Ad Hoc Committee" has noted, is
another example of ARRL's desire to make Ham Radio into a version of "CB
Internet." Fortunately, even those who used to blindly support the ARRL
are seeing this now.
He then sent to me:
> John,

> I don't want to make amateur radio into a CB internet. If all you can do is
>take petty potshots at me, why don't you just leave me alone. I am trying to
>get important things for amateur radio done and all you do is stand back and
>carp and try to talk others out of helping me.
You are trying to do what YOU THINK is important for Amateur Radio. You do
not represent me, nor a large number of Amateurs. Your attitude of "shut
up and leave me alone." is further example of ARRL arrogance. If one
disagrees
with the ARRL "party line" you tell them to "shut up," or come out with
some lame put-down like your guitar example.

Compared to the ARRL? You bet!
I expect he is writing to the FCC trying to get my license pulled, or
whatever.
