I note on the new QRP ARCI pages, under coming events, almost the entire
thing is a listing for the QRP Echolink Net every Sunday. This makes it
almost completely impossible to quickly find any real "radio" operating
events. I emailed the webmaster, but was told that it would remain.
Echolink cracks me up....The fact that you need to be licensed to use it when
interfacing to a "radio" is amazing.
But, there are folks that use it....in Baltimore, there are quite a few guys
on one of the 2 meter repeaters who, when not chatting there, use echolink.
I found out one day when I was trying to get someone to give me a signal
reort to determine is I had really gotten the RF out of the shack...and none
of them operated HF any more....well, other than interfacing with Echolink.
Possibly this is a sign of the future. Maybe QRPLIST should be proactive
(love that word) and sponsor a "Echolink QRP Sprint."
To emulate the behavior of a well know moderator....please feel free to post
about the Echolist QRP Sprint on this list, and because it is QRP related,
the subject line does not have to have EQS:(Echolink QRP Sprint) at the
beginning of the subject line.
