G'day Jonathan,

When you say you use DIA for CSD work, do you mean you use it for ORM with
entity object and value objects etc to create a full conceptual schema? Do
the students manually create every object and role on the diagram and join
the roles and put the role descriptions in the boxes...?

If so, then this is why I like the 'decrepit' VisioModeler - it is the
best software around for creating a CS diagram *directly from fact sentences
* AND mapping the CS straight to a data dictionary. All of its functionality
has been ported to Visio, but somehow only the Enterprise Architect version.
They've left us educators out in the cold with the now unsupported
VisioModeler.

If DIA requires the creation of the diagrams by hand, then I may as well use
the diagramming functions in MS Word 2007.

I have downloaded DIA and will have a closer look at it.

Thanks for all the tips.

Cheers
