I can't recommend http://www.lynda.com enough. For an annual subscription and
the resources it gives you access to it is a bargain. We use it as a
professional development tool.

Shane

Hi Rex,

The best CS5 books on the market are the Adobe Press: Classroom in a Book
Series. (Mac OS & PC) http://www.adobe.com/training/books/classroom.html

"The Classroom in a Book series is by far the best training material on the
market. Everything you need to master the software is included: clear
explanations of each lesson, step-by-step instructions, and the project
files for the students."

I have bought the books for years and they are excellent. Each book comes
with a DVD, with
the relevant training material and now 2 hours of video training as well.
The books must be written by
a IT educator, as each book has a logical sequence which is easy to
understand. The author presumes you have not
used the product before, however the content does progress from easy to
advanced tasks.

I bought my CS5 books from www.bookware.com.au ($43.95) for the book/dvd and
they arrived on the same day.
The postage is free, if the order is over $120. My CS4 books cost $60 each
at Borders last year, so this price is great.
The Dreamweaver CS5 link for the book at Bookware is:
http://www.bookware.com.au/cgi-bin/bookware/9780321701770

Our school bought CS5 Master Suite for 2011, and so I have bought the
Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, After Effects and Premiere books.
You can purchase a PDF version as well, which currently runs in Adobe
Digital Editions Software.
It is possible to get a site license of the PDF books for school.

Enjoy :-)
Regards
Sean

Subject: [qsiteict] Dreamweaver CS5 resources?

I have recently purchased and installed an educational version (for students
and teachers) of
Dreamweaver CS5 to my computer. It is a bit different to my last foray
with DW, which was DW3 (not
CS3 but DW3). That was 13 years ago, and for those interested, here is a
website I created at that
time - http://exploringdata.net. By modern standards - not good. Amongst
many other design issues,
some internal links don't work as it has been moved, and many external links
don't work because it
hasn't been updated in 13 years :-(

This term I have been using Kompozer and have been reading some books on
CSS.

So . . .

My question is, what is the fastest and best way to get up to speed with
Dreamweaver CS5?

TIA for any replies.

Cheers

Rex
